Bevis Frond - Live In Enger - 2/11/93

The Bevis Frond is Londoner Nick Saloman, an artist of singular vision whose staunch devotion to the spirit of vintage psychedelia has yielded a shelf full of unmistakably '60s-derived albums. But there's more to the Bevis Frond's extensive catalogue than mere hippie revival. The singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist's twisted pop tunes, reflective acoustic excursions and extended guitar freakouts carry a quirkily personal edge and a distinctive melodic sensibility that raises them well above mere stylistic fetishism. [Scott Schinder / Wilson Neate] Trouser Press

Good quality bootleg from '93.

Desert Sessions 1-6

At Desert Sessions, you play for the sake of music. That’s why it’s good for musicians. If someday that’s not enough anymore, or that’s not the reason behind you doing it--that’s not your raison d’etre--then a quick reminder like Desert Sessions can do so much for you, it’s amazing. It’s easy to forget that this all starts from playing in your garage and loving it. - Josh Homme

Excellent soundboard recording from the Black Hole of Calcutta or Old Ref as it is sometimes known, in Southampton on 1/22/73. This was the only gig the band recorded on the whole tour. Robert Plant dedicates Whole Lotta Love to a name he saw on the toilet wall, Alan Whitehead.
